Objects of Intrigue Decks are ON THE WAY!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Nov 12, 2019 at 12:33:57 AM

At last, the time is here!!! This is Megan again, currently bouncing up and down at her laptop, SO ecstatic to finally let you know that your decks are on the way.

Our crates came in looking beautiful and properly printed (no more ink mistakes, praise be) and now we are dropping everything to pack up your boxes to ship ASAP.

In the middle of packing!
Packages prepped for so many lovely backers!

Delivery dates will vary depending on location and order of shipment, so please be patient with us as your boxes get shipped out! We're doing everything we can to get them to you as quickly as possible.

And lastly, a word from us...

I'm sure this won't be our last update for Objects of Intrigue, seeing as there are still deliveries to make and likely more questions to be answered. However, this seems as good a time as any to remind you all just how grateful we are for your support and honesty throughout this process.

Nord has had an absolutely bonkers year. We've gone from 3 employees to 9 employees, expanded our sales reach, invested in health care plans for all employees, and worked on 4 massive Kickstarters. That growth, while wonderful, came with so many unexpected company-wide challenges that unfortunately affected backers like you with the delay in sending you these decks.

We would like to thank every single one of you for sticking with us throughout this process, in spite of these challenges. Whether you left comments in support of us or comments criticizing us (justifiably) for our mistakes, we appreciate every single one of them. We are more determined than ever to grow as a company and keep these mistakes from happening again.

At the core of it all, we are here because we love making people happy with these silly products of ours. It brings us so much joy to see you all passionate and excited for our decks and books. We will never stop creating and working harder to make you proud to have our products at your table :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!

That's all for today, folks -- keep an eye on your mailboxes, and happy gaming!

Need help downloading your PDFs?
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 29, 2019 at 03:03:25 AM

Hello everyone! It's Megan again, here with some hopefully helpful tips on how to download your Objects of Intrigue PDFs if they aren't working for you.

After working with Backerkit Customer Service, all of our uploaded PDFs were found to be functional and downloadable. This means that an inability to download them could mean unique issues on the backer's ends -- but that's okay! We're here to help you get to the bottom of it :)

Below are some things to try if you haven't been able to download your PDFs yet:

Option #1: Download Directly Through Backerkit

One thing to try is logging into your Backerkit directly, as opposed to clicking on the email link. Once you're logged on, click on "Objects of Intrigue" and select "Digital Downloads" located beneath your shipping information. This should bring up your PDFs and make them available to download.

(Thank you Kickstarter Backer "Mudd" for confirming that this worked for you!)

Option #2: Try a Different Browser

Browsers like Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or Safari have been known to show occasional issues with downloading Backerkit files. If possible, try clearing out your cache and cookies (located in your browser settings) and redownloading, or try downloading your PDFs on either Google Chrome or Firefox tosee if that fixes the issue.

If you have tried both of these methods and you still aren't able to access your PDFs, please send a message along to [email protected]. Please provide your backer number as well as which PDFs you purchased (or are receiving automatically after purchasing decks) requesting the files due to an error with Backerkit, and we will send you those files via email.

Important Note: Please email us ONLY if the above two options didn't work for you first. We've got a lot of backers and only one person in Nord Support, so a barrage of emails will only make it harder to get to everyone in a timely manner! However, if you need the assistance, absolutely send us an email; we'll be happy to help :)

We'll be back with another update next week on Tuesday, November 5th regarding shipment of the physical decks, since next week is when they should be arriving at our warehouse in California! Thank you all for your patience and assistance working through these PDF delivery issues!

Happy Gaming,

Megan

Check your emails - PDFs are here!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 22, 2019 at 07:55:50 PM

Hello everyone! This is Megan again, with some extremely exciting news for you all: all Objects of Intrigue PDFs are COMPLETE and on their way to you via email!

We are so, so appreciative of your patience as we've gotten these PDFs in tip-top shape after all of the unexpected trouble with physical deck shipping got in the way. We are ecstatic about how they turned out, and we sincerely hope you enjoy them!

Keep your eyes peeled from an email from Nord through Backerkit to download your PDF(s). There are quite a few of you, so we thank you for your patience as the server works through sending your individual emails :)

Physical Deck Fulfillment

After all of the trouble we've had with getting physical decks printed, Nord ended up flying our Project Manager Greg to Texas to check up on the issues they've been having. Greg did an amazing job at overseeing the printing VERY closely, and is happy to report that our decks are now looking as pristine and evenly-yellowed as initially intended! This setback hurt our hearts to see and relay to you, but we're ecstatic that things seem to finally  be back on track.

Now that these new decks are being packaged, we're expecting them in the office in the first week of November. After they're in the office, everything is getting put on hold to get these decks packaged and sent out to you. Even our CEO is primed and ready to shove that packing paper betwixt your delectably intriguing decks. How fun!

That's all for today's update! As always, thank you all for your patience and love, and feel free to pop into our Objects of Intrigue Discord to share the excitement and ideas as you all pop open your virtual decks!

Happy Gaming,

Megan

New Information: Slight Delivery Delay
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 03, 2019 at 10:11:56 PM

Hello all!

This is Megan again, coming to you with some news in the way of our Objects of Intrigue card deck prints.

For the past two months, we've dealt with delightfully smooth processing for these decks (thank goodness for that). However, upon just receiving a sample of the card decks from our printing company, we were surprised to find inconsistencies in ink saturation throughout multiple decks.

Apparently, the company was unaware of an issue that led to extra yellow being added to certain batches of cards. Below are some photos to demonstrate the difference:

Cards with excess yellow (scan)
Cards without excess yellow (scan)
Further color discrepancies (photo)

Although these differences may be slight to some, we are adamant that these decks be reprinted to meet our high standards. We know we're personally very bothered when card faces and card backs exhibit differences, since that marks the cards, reduces randomness, and looks far less professional. Despite the financial cost and delay associated with reprints, we are determined to get you the products you deserve, and we hope you feel the same.

After speaking with our printing company, they will be starting a reprint of these cards on Monday, October 7th and overnighting us new samples to make sure they meet our standards. Once we look over these new samples, we will post another update here to (hopefully) inform you all on their improved appearance.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this additional wait may cause, and sincerely appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure that these cards are the highest quality possible.

Have a wonderful rest of your week, adventurers, and we will be back for another update on Thursday, October 10th!

Happy Gaming,

Megan

Official Objects of Intrigue Delivery Date is IN!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 12, 2019 at 09:35:48 PM

Hello everyone!

This is Megan again for our regularly-scheduled bi-weekly Objects of Intrigue update! Today, I'm very excited to finally bring you all the official new delivery date of your Objects of Intrigue decks!

Estimated Delivery Date: Early-to-mid October (~1 month from now)

We have just finally received an updated delivery date from our card production offices in the US. Printing for all Objects of Intrigue decks is slated to finish on September 27th, 2019. After that, the production company will ship all palettes of decks to our headquarters in Watsonville, CA, after which we will bust our nerdy butts to pack those boxes and start shipping them off ASAP to all of you.

This means we estimate that your decks will arrive at your door in approximately one month, around early-to-mid October.

This delivery date is a few weeks after our initial estimate that we released late July. We apologize for any inconvenience this additional slight delay may cause, but we're very excited to finally have an exact completion date, and can't wait to get these decks in your hands as soon as possible.

Regarding the PDFs: they are currently still in progress as we add additional behind-the-scenes info and suggestions from our different writers on quests or interactions that these intriguing discoveries could spark! As mentioned before, we're hoping to get these PDFs to you all as soon as possible. We're wary of giving an exact date so we can avoid any further delay notices if things arise, but our goal is to get PDFs to you around the beginning of October, before decks arrive.

Regarding Last Week's Sale Update

Lastly: I would like to personally apologize for the previous update during which I informed you all of our latest sale. In the past we have received complaints for backers for not posting sale information on Kickstarter, so I wanted to be sure that I wrote an update to notify those that didn't know about it. Unfortunately, my update did not include any additional news on the status of Objects of Intrigue, and came off to some as an additional ploy to get money from those of you that have already so generously supported us on this Kickstarter. Especially after the heartache that the Objects of Intrigue delay has caused many of you, I can completely understand why this update would be interpreted this way.

Please accept my apologies for failing to consider this before posting my previous sale update. In the future, if you would like to be notified of non-Kickstarter-related Nord sales, please sign up for email notifications on Nord's website. If I post any updates including sale information here in the future, I will be sure to only do so in a small mention at the end of updates -- those of which are mostly comprised of more Kickstarter-pertinent information.

As always, thank you so much for your reading, and have a lovely rest of your week!

Happy Gaming,

Megan
